As a girl in today's world...chances are you've had your heart broken by a boy. When this happens, we undoubtedly feel sadness, betrayal, and often bitterness.

Bitterness is a dangerous thing and, if left unchecked, it can poison every aspect of our lives. We live in a society that has glorified the concept of revenge, so it's easy for us to get caught up in the idea of "getting him back."

But the Bible calls us to a higher standard. 1 Peter 3:9 says, "Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing."

As difficult as it might be, take a minute to say a prayer for the one who hurt you. Then say a prayer for yourself and ask God to remove any bitterness in your heart. Discover for yourself the freedom of forgiveness.
